In Memoriam 9/11
Avery Fisher Hall, New York
Details for singers
Vocal scores. You need to bring your own music, since we will not be taking spares to New York. The Armed Man is published by Boosey & Hawkes (ISMN 979-0-060-11545-5), but be very careful to bring the complete work and not the incomplete vocal suite which is also published by Boosey. If your local music shop cannot help you, then you can order from Music Dynamics either by telephone on 0845 304 5070 (ask to speak to David) or via their ChoraLine website (opens in a new window). Music Dynamics also offer ChoraLine CDs and cassettes to enable you to learn your part in advance. For the Fallen is also published by Boosey & Hawkes (ISMN 979-0-060-12314-6), and although there are no available rehearsal materials the work is included on the EMI Anniversary CD of The Armed Man, and can be downloaded very cheaply as an individual item in MP3 format from various legal sources, including www.amazon.co.uk (opens in a new window).
Learning the music. Click here to download our usual sheet of chorus notes which we ask you to copy meticulously into your scores and adhere to when you practise. As we have a day of rehearsals in New York, many of the finer points can be covered then, but it is vital that all the basic note-learning is done in advance
Dress for the concert. Details of what to wear, both for the concert and the reception, are given on the chorus notes: click the link in the previous paragraph. Avery Fisher Hall is a formal venue, and so our official polo tops cannot be worn; you can, of course, wear them for rehearsals—click here to download an order form.
