THE SCRATCH® MALTESE MESSIAH
Visit the site in the next few weeks to see reviews and photos from our most recent trip abroad, this time to sing Messiah in Malta, in the splendid Baroque edifice which is St Paul’s Cathedral. Brian Kay was our conductor, with soloists Martene Grimson (soprano), Stephanie Lewis (mezzo), James Geer (tenor) and Derek Welton (bass).
During the planning stages we worked closely with a local charity which benefited from the concert on Saturday 6 March. This was Inspire: The Foundation for Inclusion (click here to visit their English-language website), and it works with disabled people — adults and children — to improve their quality of life. Because the cathedral in Mdina was packed that evening, over €5,000 was raised for Inspire, a sum which well exceeded the expectations of the charity’s organiser, Joshua Farrugia.
