Singday® 2009 : The Rutter Requiem

The chance to sing John Rutter’s lyrical Requiem under the baton of the composer himself brought choirs and individuals flocking to the Royal Albert Hall in July 2009.

Butterworth: The Banks of Green Willow
Vaughan Williams: The Lark Ascending
Vaughan Williams: English Folk Songs Suite
John Rutter: Requiem
The soprano soloist in the Requiem was Mary Bevan, and the violinist in Vaughan Williams’ The Lark Ascending was Thomas Gould. The orchestra was the English Festival Orchestra, led by Adrian Levine, and the whole programme was conducted by John Rutter himself.
