The Scratch® Verdi Requiem

Royal Albert Hall

With a chorus approaching 2,000 in number, TRBC’s Verdi Requiem on 9 May was a powerful performance worthy of Verdi’s operatic vision. With the last-minute substitition of soprano Linda Richardson for an indisposed  Janis Kelly tensions might have run high, but none were apparent, other than the musical ones intended by the composer!

The soloists in this performance were soprano Linda Richardson, mezzo-soprano Vanessa Williamson, tenor John Hudson and bass Paul Reeves. The orchestra was the English Festival Orchestra, led by Adrian Levine, and the conductor was Brian Kay.
