What is the really big chorus

The Really Big Chorus (TRBC) is an ‘umbrella’ choir of smaller choirs and individuals which offers singers the opportunity to take part in unique large-scale choral concerts at the Royal Albert Hall. Our performing choirs are between 1,000 and 3,500 strong, so you are sure of vocal support; an additional boon for a busy singer is that rehearsals, if any, are on the day only (none at all for Messiah from Scratch!). We book the Royal Albert Hall, a professional orchestra and soloists, and deal with all the admin;  all you have to do is to book a seat, learn the music in advance, then turn up on the day at the appointed time and sing – nothing else to it!

Singers are also invited to join smaller groups (100–250) for weekend trips to tempting destinations abroad and choral cruises on exclusively chartered river-boats.

Our singing Members are drawn not only from the UK but also from Europe and the USA; we even have Members in Australia, Japan, the Middle East and South Africa who join us at the RAH from time to time. Everyone shares a common love of choral singing and the sheer sense of exhilaration which comes from singing wonderful music in the company of other like-minded people: musical friendship on a national and international scale. TRBC and Concerts from Scratch are both trading names for Scratch Concerts Ltd, which is the company underpinning all the activities. Scratch Concerts Ltd, through its staff and volunteers, does all the hard graft associated with bookings, mailings, publicity, issuing tickets and actually putting on the concerts and excursions.
