Mozart at Midnight

We return to Vienna for this winter singing holiday to perform Mozart’s Requiem, with the final chords echoing through the Cathedral at the exact moment of  the composer’s death. When we first made this pilgrimage in 2018, all available singing places were snapped up within a fortnight of booking opening, so don’t delay!

This is a truly amazing event, singing in the Vienna Stephansdom which witnessed both Mozart’s wedding and his pre-burial blessing, and with the added bonus for TRBC participants of a private concert from the Vienna Boys Choir in the Augartenpalais which is not generally open to the public.

This 2018 comment from a singer sums up the occasion perfectly: ‘Something I will never forget – the Cathedral filled to overflowing at 12 midnight, but most of all, the complete silence at the end.’ (Iva B.)

Mozart is, of course, the focus, but you will also have time to explore Vienna, which sparkles at this time of the year with traditional German Christmas Markets in every corner of the city. You can also extend your holiday until Sunday 8 December.

This tour is now open for booking: see links below.

Cypriot Delight

This singing holiday is now sold out – sorry for any disappointment!

Singers who have already booked but have mislaid the original information sent by Specialised Travel can download STL’s General Information Booklet here.

If your place has been confirmed, you should download Brian Kay’s chorus notes for The Armed Man. Copy them into your score to help you with your homework, and also to save time in rehearsal.

Full music instructions (rehearsal and concert timings, dress, etc) will be incorporated into the final event details sent out by Specialised Travel about a week before departure. However, if you want a preview, you can download the music instructions here.
