Colombian soprano Julieth Lozana was awarded a Masters in Vocal Performance by the Royal College of Music, and continues her studies at the RCM International Opera School with Dinah Harris. She is an Irene Hanson Scholar supported by a Jessie Summer scholarship, and a Sybil Tutton award holder.

She won first prize in the 2015 Emmy Destinn Awards Competition 2015 and was also the winner of Colombia’s National Singing Competition (young and professional categories) and is a recipient of the Salvi Foundation’s Young Talent award.

Julieth was a participant in Georg Solti’s 2016 Academy Summer programme and took the role of Zerlina Don Giovanni in the Verbier Festival Academy for which she was awarded the Prix Thierry Mermod for singers. She has taken part in masterclasses with Angela Gheorghiu, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Richard Bonnynge, Roger Vignoles, Carmen Gianattasio, Dann Ettinger, among others. Other opera credits include the title role in Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen, Tytania A Midsummer’s Night Dream, and Serpina La serva padrona. In 2018 she performed in India and China sponsored by Jaguar Land Rover and the RCM, and gave a series of recitals in Macau and Colombia.

Julieth enjoys working with young performers in workshops both in the UK and Colombia, sharing her own experiences and strategies with young emerging artists.

Forthcoming performances include Handel’s Messiah at the Teatro Colón in Colombia, Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro for the RCM Opera Studio directed by Sir Thomas Allen, and Despina in Cosi fan tutte for the International Festival of Music in Cartagena.
