Mozart at Midnight

03/12/2024 - 06/12/2024

For our Mozart at Midnight singing holiday, we return to Vienna to perform Mozart’s Requiem, with the final chords echoing through the Cathedral at the exact moment of  the composer’s death. When we first made this pilgrimage in 2018, all available singing places were snapped up within a fortnight of booking opening, so don’t delay!

This is a truly amazing event, singing in the Vienna Stephansdom which witnessed both Mozart’s wedding and his pre-burial blessing. Our conductor is Gerald Wirth,  President and Artistic Director of the Vienna Boys Choir.  An added bonus for all TRBC participants will be a presentation and private concert from one of the VBC choirs in the boys’ home of the Augartenpalais, not generally open to the public. Also on offer is an optional city tour and a musical feast in a typical Viennese heuriger (wine tavern).

This comment from a singer who took part in our first Mozart at Midnight in 2018 sums up the occasion perfectly: ‘Something I will never forget – the Cathedral filled to overflowing at 12 midnight, but most of all, the complete silence at the end.’ (Iva B.)

Mozart is, of course, the focus, but you will also have time to explore Vienna, which sparkles at this time of the year with traditional German Christmas Markets in every corner of the city. If you wish to linger longer over glühwein and bratwurst, and complete your Christmas shopping, you can also extend your holiday until Sunday 8 December.

This tour is now open for booking: see links below (or return to the home page to see all our events)
