Coventry Cathedral, where we will give our closing concert

Tuesday 6–Sunday 11 August 2019

Warwick University/Coventry Cathedral

‘Music learning and performing of the highest quality’ was how Classical Music described our second Summer School in 2015, and it’s just got better each year! We invite you to join us for the sixth TRBC Choral Summer School in August 2019 when there will be two choral works to tackle: Poulenc’s sparkling Gloria of 1960 and Puccini’s Messa de Gloria, written in 1880 but not published until 1951. You are guaranteed challenge and enjoyment at every rehearsal. Download the draft schedule here.

During the week you will also be able to participate in various workshops, including  time spent on choral technique (intonation, sight singing, blend and breath control); there will be a trip to the Royal Shakespeare Company at Stratford to see As You Like It; other attractions will be added in due course.

Those taking part in The TRBC Choral Summer School in 2019 will:

•  rehearse the main choral works daily with Brian Kay;
•  perform in Coventry Cathedral with the English Symphony Orchestra and professional soloists;
•  explore other areas of choral singing and vocal technique in afternoon workshops with Chris Finch;
•  enjoy comfortable accommodation and delicious meals on the attractive Warwick University campus.

The draft schedule of the week’s activities can be downloaded here.
