How do I book seats for Messiah from Scratch?

Booking is now open. You need to be logged in to our website to access the Royal Albert Hall booking page. You can login here or, if you are not already on our mailing list, click Join our Mailing List (it’s free and you can unsubscribe at any time). Warning: your TRBC login details will not work when you get to the ticket checkout on the RAH website. The RAH is a separate organisation and you need to register as one of their customers.  There is also a rather confusing red box at the top of their registration page. If you are registering with the RAH for the first time, ignore the red box and fill in the form beneath it. If this does not work, please call the RAH Box Office on 020 7589 8212 and explain your difficulty.

If you were on our previous mailing list and haven’t yet registered on our new system, download full instructions here.

Tickets have sold fast. As we come up to the Easter weekend, the following seats are available:

Sopranos – around 75 seats on the left side of the Rausing Circle
Altos – around 30 seats on the right of the Rausing Circle
Tenors – 40 seats in the Arena and 24 seats in a small block clockwise from letter P in the Circle (on the left of the plan)
Basses – 50 seats at the back of the Stage or another 50 in a block anti-clockwise from letter P in the Circle.

There are also around 18 Box seats for singers (Boxes are for mixed voices/audience in any combination).

For Audience, there are a few single Box seats available; there are also some in the Stalls where RAH Debenture Holders (Members) have already returned their seats for resale. More of these seats will become available in the coming months so, if you can’t find seats now, do check back from time to time. Box seats for audience/singers, and Stalls seats for audience, will trickle back as RAH Members return seats they do not wish to use.

Once logged in on our website, click on the big banner Book tickets for Messiah to go straight to the Royal Albert Hall booking page. There are three steps in the RAH booking process – see below. As with all new systems, the navigation might seem confusing to begin with, so take your time. If you have real problems, call the RAH Box Office on 020 7589 8212 with the booking page open on your screen, and one of their team will help you.

Seating plan

It might be helpful to have the TRBC voice-area plan to hand before you start. It’s on the back of the Messiah leaflet, but you can also download a detailed image here.

Here are the steps

Step 1. You must complete this before the Hall’s seating plan will load. To start, click any one of the options on the screen (e.g. Rausing Circle Alto). Then click Confirm tickets followed by the red Get tickets button at the top of the page. The seating plan now pops up, and you will be able to change the options you clicked initially.

Step 2. We recommend you adjust the size of the plan using the +/- buttons so you can view the whole singing area. The seats selected at Step 1 are highlighted, and you can change or add to these, or delete them altogether leaving just the seating plan on the screen.

Step 3. You can now choose any vacant seats (shown as open circles) from any area of the hall, including audience (but not including Gallery – *see below), subject to a 12-seat maximum. When you have finished, check carefully that your seats are in the correct voice area(s), and that you have deleted any unwanted seats from Step 1. Click Add to basket. If you find you have made a mistake after clicking Add to basket you cannot go back and amend the order. You must continue past the ‘Donation’ screen and then click Cancel Order (grey) instead of Checkout (red) at the bottom of the following page.  After pressing Checkout you will be asked to register as a Royal Albert Hall customer if this is your first ticket purchase via the RAH website: ignore the red box and complete the form beneath it (see our advice at the beginning of these instructions).
*Standing places in the Gallery cannot be booked at the same time as singing/audience seats. Please book Gallery places separately.

And afterwards …

Please make a note of your seat numbers and how/where you have stored the tickets. We also suggest you locate and print your tickets a week or so before the concert; this will save time on the day and allow you to contact the RAH Box Office if you need replacements. Call 020 7589 8212 and give as much information as you can. We regret that the TRBC Box Office cannot assist with tickets booked through the Royal Albert Hall.

We look forward to seeing you on Sunday 9 November.
