SINGING & TULIPS CHORAL CRUISE

SAILING THE WATERWAYS FROM AMSTERDAM AND BACK AGAIN

1–8 April 2027

MUSIC DETAILS

Music for the Singing & Tulips Choral Cruise consists of daily choral sessions as we cruise between ports. These are  planned so as not to conflict with shore excursions or meals (most important!). Because we have exclusive use of the Amadeus Brilliant we will have a degree of flexibility with times, so we can make the most of every moment of our cruise. We hope to be able to give a short informal concert at the end of the week.

Our musicians
Directing our choral sessions will be Sam Evans, professional baritone and busy choral conductor, also a vocal coach for several top professional groups. Joining Sam is the pianist Maria Marchant – a superb performer, well known to anyone who has joined a previous TRBC cruise.

Scores to bring
You need to bring your own music, but please do not buy copies until Specialised Travel has confirmed your place.  We will be singing from the following (please note you will not be able to buy copies on the boat):

The New Novello Part-Song Book (ISBN 0-85360-895-4). The same anthology that we explored in Norway, but Sam will choose a different selection of part-songs.
Songs for a Spring Cruise.  A small group of light-hearted pieces, SAMen or unison, specially compiled for the Singing & Tulips Choral Cruise.

Songs for a Spring Cruise is only available from Blackwell’s Music Shop in Oxford. The booklet is free, but Blackwell’s will charge postage and packing. If you order other items from Blackwell’s (which offers a knowledgeable and efficient service), postage etc will be calculated on the complete order. Contact them by telephone on 01865 333582 or email them at printed.music@blackwell.co.uk.

You don’t need to learn every item in the Novello volume. Closer to the time of sailing, we will post details here of the numbers Sam Evans will be working on.
